LSA Committees and Volunteers
Executive Council:
Coordinates the work of the committees, approves expenditures of LSA funds, recruits LSA volunteers, maintains the bylaws. Executive Council is comprised of the LSA Co-Chairs and a representative from each standing committee. All LSA volunteers meet throughout the year in order to discuss LSA business, approve committee reports, and initiate new volunteers. [Membership list is on the All Volunteers page]Publicity Committee:
Creates and mails flyers/invitations for all LSA functions. Maintains list of former staff who wish to be invited to LSA events. [Volunteers: Harriett Smith (Chair), Lisa Sieracki]House Committee:
Maintains the Knight Library staff lounge; returns cans and bottles used to buy supplies for the staff lounge; arranges recycling for events. [Volunteers: Lisa Sieracki (Chair), Emily Glenn, Susan Stumpf]Social Committee:
Plans and organizes the holiday potluck in December and the retirement recognition tea in May. Also provides refreshments for other LSA events as needed. [Volunteers: Cathy Flynn-Purvis (Chair), Shelia Stigall, Duffy Knaus, Stephanie Midkiff]Ways and Means Committee:
Develops LSA's budget, recruits members, raises funds, and conducts special projects that may be assigned to or originated by it. [Volunteers: Dennis Hyatt, Susan Mincks (Chair), Avis Thompson]Program Committee:
Plans programs, including the Gonzo Review, and recruits speakers/performers. [Volunteers: Laine Stambaugh, Salli-Jo Osborn, Jean Murphy, Colleen Bell, Duffy Knaus]Welcome Committee:
Welcomes new employees and invites them to join the Library Staff Association. Maintains and updates an LSA brochure. [Volunteers: Lisa Sieracki, Terry Smith, Alyssa Bennett(Chair), Linda Zimmerman, Susan Stumpf]Web/Newsletter Committee:
Develops and maintains a web page for the Association. Posts news items on the web and in the Staff Bulletin. An excellent opportunity to learn and refine web publishing skills. [Volunteers: Harriett Smith, Lonni Sexton, Mary Grenci, Chelle Batchelor, Mark Watson]Treasurer:
Deposits dues; monitors vending and other accounts; reimburses members for LSA expenses. [Volunteer: Kathy Wittwer]1999/00 Committees
