All Volunteers

Occasionally, the new volunteers for the various committees (see below) meet with former officers and committee members to review the past year's efforts, and to choose a new Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson (if such have not already been identified).

Executive Council

In addition to the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, and Past Chairperson, each committee selects one representative to serve on the Executive Council, which meets as needed to discuss LSA business. [Volunteers: Dave Baker (LSA Chair and Program Chair), Jen Lindsey (Vice Chair), Harriett Smith (Publicity), Sherra Hopkins (Social), Avis Thompson (Welcome), Paul Frantz (House), Terry McQuilkin (Web/Newsletter), Lisa Sieracki (Ways and Means), and Pam DeLaittre (LSA Treasurer)]

House Committee

Maintains and improves the Knight Library staff lounge, and assists branches with lounge needs. [Volunteers: Paul Frantz (Chair and exec rep), Tom Stave, Karen Estlund (web updater)]

Program Committee

Plans programs, including the Gonzo Review, and recruits speakers/performers. [Volunteers: David Baker (Chair and exec rep), Jennifer Lindsey, Michael Thompson, Tiff Thornton, Chris Tweeter, John Russell, Elizabeth Duell]

Publicity Committee

Creates and mails flyers/invitations for all LSA functions. Maintains list of former staff that wish to be invited to LSA events. Updates the LSA events web page. Social Committee

Plans and organizes the Holiday Potluck in December and the May Tea. Also provides refreshments for other LSA events as needed. [Volunteers: Sherra Hopkins (chair and exec rep), Stephanie Midkiff, Jeanie Stuntzner, Elena Chertok, Heghine Hakobyan, Kay Brooks, Hana Chan]

Ways and Means Committee

Develops LSA's budget, conducts dues drive, raises other funds as needed, and carries out special projects. [Volunteers: Lisa Sieracki (chair, exec rep, web updater), Jeff Staiger (budget & balance sheet maintainer), Pam DeLaittre, Jeanie Stunztner (printer of vending account reports), Eric Clark, Kate Burns]

Web/Newsletter Committee

Maintains a web site for the Association, and publishes a monthly web-based newsletter. [Volunteers: Terry McQuilkin (Chair and exec rep), Laura Damiani, Jennifer Lindsey, Jennifer Rowan, Harriett Smith (web updating responsibilities shared)]

Welcome Committee

Welcomes new employees and invites them to join the Library Staff Association. Maintains and updates an LSA brochure. [Volunteers: Avis Thompson (Co-Chair and exec rep), Katy Lenn, Beth Singler (Co-Chair)
, Annie Zeidman-Karpinski, Tiffany Ambiel, Ron Renchler, Margaret Bean, Karen Munro (for PDX)]

Treasurer

Deposits dues, pays bills, monitors checking and vending accounts, maintains petty cash, reimburses members for LSA expenses. [Volunteer: Pam DeLaittre]
