Book Group--Women Authors
This book discussion group has been examining works by women for
the past 2-3 years. They have explored authors such as Amy Tan, Barbara
Pym, Maya Angelou, Maxine Hong Kingston and various other inspired
females.
The group tries to pick books that are already in paperback and are
readily available at the Knight Library, through Orbis, or at local
libraries and used bookstores. Members meet after they have all finished
reading, and the individual who selected the book facilitates a
discussion about it. This group provides an opportunity to read
fascinating works by women that one might not have discovered
independently.

Thursday Lunch Group
Lonely on a Thursday afternoon? Meet up with some of your
coworkers!
Several people meet every Thursday at noon at the honeysuckle arches
in front of Knight Library and venture out to one of the *fine* dining
establishments near the university. The group is entirely social,
providing a
chance to talk about gardens, families, hobbies, or any other topic
except work! They would love for more people to
join them - librarians, staff and students are all invited! If the day,
time, or meeting place are problematic they can easily be changed. This
is a great opportunity to get to know your colleagues outside of their
work environment!
New members are welcome!
