A New Treasurer and a New Program Chair for LSA
Marcie Stout, an administrative assistant in the Law Library, has taken over the LSA Treasurer job from Pam DeLaittre, who retired at the end of December. Marcie has been an active member of the LSA Ways and Means committee for the past year, and is an experienced bookkeeper. Thanks Marcie!
Since Marcie is located a bit out of the way for employees in Knight to pay dues or receive reimbursements, Manuel and Beth in Purchasing have kindly offered to accept the $6 dues payments for LSA. Naturally, Marcie can also accept them.
You can email Marcie or phone her at 6-0798 with any questions about dues or reimbursements for LSA committee expenses.
And a hearty "Thank You" to Pam, who set things up well for Marcie to take over. Pam was active on LSA committees and was LSA treasurer for many years. We will miss her energy, enthusiasm, and sense of humour, and wish her well in retirement.
Elizabeth Duell is stepping down as LSA Program Chair, and sent this message to the News:
Alas and Alack! The time has come for a changing of the Guard. The intrepid Program Committee (the committee that has the most fun) is welcoming Tiffany VanPelt as the new Chair. Many of you will know her from her former position as the receptionist in the Administration office. She, and the rest of the committee, Kate Ball and Jennifer Lindsay, are planning fun and unusual events in the near future (can you say "Roller Derby"?). Tiffany brings enthusiasm and positive energy to her new position of power...I mean, leadership. If you have ideas for events, please feel free to contact her.
As the past chair, I would like to thank my fabulous committee for being up for anything. You have all been great fun and it was, and always will be, appreciated.
Carry On, Gallant Team.
In the face of apathy and timidity
know that a day will glow and
you bring betterment to all
from your efforts at frivolity
and encouraging the absurd.
Tend the Green Valley of Silliness
Do foolish things with enthusiasm.
